As an academic medical center, UMHC participates in numerous clinical trials. Clinical trials, also called medical research and research studies, are research studies done with human volunteers. All clinical research studies must go through a rigorous review process conducted by the University of Mississippi Medical Center Institutional Review Boards. Before making a decision to participate in a clinical study, it is important to have a basic understanding about the study.
