Conditions of the skin, facial plastic surgery, and cosmetic skin care.

Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism
Evaluation, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diabetes and other disorders of the endocrine system and its hormones.

Digestive Health and Nutrition (Gastroenterology / GI)
Diagnostic and management services for individuals with gastrointestinal, liver and nutritional disorders and screening for gastrointestinal cancer. UMHC is the only provider in the state to offer gastric electrical stimulator (GES) placement.

Ear, Nose and Throat (Otolaryngology / ENT)
Conditions of the ear, nose, and throat. Otolaryngologists also manage the treatment of head and neck cancers, as well as perform reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery.

Emergency Medicine
High quality emergency medical and trauma care. UMHC operates separate adult and pediatric emergency rooms and they are the only ones in Mississippi which meet the requirements for designation as a level one trauma center.

Eye and Vision Services
Comprehensive eye care ranging from general eye examinations to the treatment of complex vision disorders and corneal transplant.

Heart and Vascular Services
University Heart offers the most comprehensive cardiovascular services anywhere in Mississippi, including one of the most comprehensive electrophysiology (EP) labs in the South.

Infectious Diseases
Care for individuals with suspected or known infectious diseases, including tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases and any other disease that is caused by bacteria or viruses.

Kidney Diseases (Nephrology)
Treatments for a myriad of problems in patients with acute renal failure, mild renal insufficiency, and end stage renal disease. UMHC offers the only kidney (renal) transplant program in the state.

Lungs and Breathing (Pulmonary and Critical Care)
Manages patients with lung diseases such as COPD (emphysema), asthma, and pulmonary fibrosis.

Mental Health Services
Services for the diagnosis and treatment of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.

Diagnostic and management services for individuals with conditions of the nervous system.

Pain Medicine
Management of acute and chronic pain as well as anesthesia services.

Comprehensive services ranging from cosmetic enhancements to treatments for physical abnormalities and traumas.

Preventive Medicine
Comprehensive evaluation and treatment for known or suspected inherited disorders for pediatric and adult patients, as well as prenatal counseling for pregnant patients.

Primary Care
Comprehensive care with specialized areas including family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, senior care (geriatrics), and ob/gyn.

Radiation Oncology
Radiation therapy for the treatment of cancer.

Radiology Services
Comprehensive imaging services including abdominal imaging, breast imaging, emergency radiology, gastrointestinal radiology, genitourinary radiology, musculoskeletal radiology, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, pediatric radiology, ultrasound, and vascular interventional radiology.

Rehabilitation Services
Care of patients who need rehabilitation from strokes, amputations, major multiple traumas, spinal cord injuries, minor brain injuries, arthritis, neurological disorders and other medical conditions that require rehabilitation.

Sports Medicine
Preventing, diagnosing and treating injuries related to participating in physical activities, specifically injuries to joints or muscles caused by engaging in sporting activities.

Sleep Services
Comprehensive diagnostic evaluation of persons with suspected sleep disorders and the full range of treatments available to reverse or improve diagnosed sleep disorders. The center has the longest-standing accreditation in Mississippi by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Surgical Services
Full range of surgical services ranging from minimally invasive and laparoscopic/endoscopic to cardiothoracic, transplant, and trauma.

Transplant Services
Transplant of solid organs including heart and kidney (renal) and tissue including cornea and bone marrow. University Hospitals and Health System is the only transplant center in the state.

Travel Services
People planning foreign travel should talk with a travel medicine specialist as far in advance of the trip as possible for information on required vaccinations, health reports, availability of medications, and other important information.

Urology Services
Medical and surgical care for men and women including incontinence, kidney stones, prostate health, and other urologic conditions.

Weight Loss Services
Adult obesity diagnosis and management using a team disease management approach to help teach strategies for managing health and weight.

Women's Health Services
Preventive health screening, contraceptive services, management of perimenopausal and menopausal gynecologic symptomatology, obstetrical care, infertility treatment, and other health issues related to women. The Winfred L. Wiser Hospital for Women & Infants is Mississippi's only comprehensive hospital for women and infants, and has the state’s only center for high-risk obstetrics.
